24-Hour Crisis Line

Getting out of an abusive relationship isnโ€™t easy. Many times, we still hope that things will change or we are afraid of what our partner will do if they discover we are trying to leave. Whatever the reasons, we can feel trapped and helpless but help is available.

You are not alone. You deserve to live free of fear. We are ready to listen.

Our 24-hour Crisis Line provides crisis intervention, safety planning, shelter placement, and information & referral to callers daily. We work closely with community providers connecting individuals with resources that can meet their needs. If you or someone you know is in need of help, please call our 24-Hour Crisis Line at 205-669-7233 (SAFE) to speak with a trained advocate.

Emergency Shelter

SafeHouse provides 24-hour emergency shelter for individuals and their dependent family members who are fleeing domestic and/or sexual violence. Our confidential and secure 56-bed facility offers around-the-clock advocacy from trained staff. Individuals and families entering the shelter can expect clean and comfortable amenities and access to resources and support staff. Each resident is assigned a case manager and together they develop safety plans, set goals, and discuss additional community resources so the resident can make informed decisions about their future.

When in shelter, residents have direct access to crisis counseling, case management, child advocacy services, safety planning, and connections to community resources. Emergency shelter provides critical services to ensure survivors have the opportunity to transition to safety and stability.
