legal services

At SafeHouse we recognize that survivors of domestic and sexual violence often encounter complicated legal matters as a result of that experience. Our Legal Assistance for Victims Program provides support as you work to cut ties with your partner and/or confront legal matters resulting from your abuse.

SafeHouse provides free and confidential legal advocacy services to qualifying low-income adult victims of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and sexual assault.

Weโ€™re here to support you as you navigate the legal system and will help you identify your rights and options as a survivor of abuse. Our services include support and advocacy during court proceedings, assistance with protection from abuse orders (PFAs) and attorney referrals.

Victims of domestic violence and sexual assault may qualify for assistance with:

  • Divorce
  • Child Support
  • Foreclosure
  • Evictions
  • Unfair Debt Collection
  • Immigration
  • Unsafe Housing Claims
  • Subsidized Housing Benefits
