Dear Friends of SafeHouse,

The holiday season is often associated with joy, celebration, and togetherness. At the same time, we recognize that for many individuals experiencing sexual and domestic violence, this time of year can bring increased danger, fear, and uncertainty. The pressures of the holidays can make it harder to seek help, and many survivors remain in unsafe situations in an effort to preserve stability for their children and families. These realities make the season especially complex—and underscore why SafeHouse’s work is so critical.

As the year comes to a close, we reflect on a year marked by challenges, growth, and profound impact. Like many organizations, SafeHouse has navigated change and uncertainty, yet our mission has remained steady. Because of strong community support and unwavering commitment to survivors, safety and advocacy continued without interruption. Even in difficult moments, SafeHouse endured—and so did the people we serve.

The holidays often magnify both need and impact. Every day, survivors and their children rely on SafeHouse for safety, advocacy, and hope for what comes next. Because of your support, survivors are not alone. Because of you, safety remains within reach.

Each act of support—whether through donations, partnerships, volunteering, or simply spreading awareness—plays a role in creating a safer community. As we move into the new year, we are deeply grateful for everyone who stands with survivors and believes in a future free from violence. Your compassion and commitment truly make a difference.

Happy Holidays,

Janelle Sierra
